Grey Alder progression

This little Grey Alder has got to my collection in February 2012. I collected it of hedge and left in pot for two seasons growing freely.

as collected. Nothing special, straight stick, typical beginners mistake 🙂

This year I decided it is time to give it some shape. Here are some pictures showing the proces

tree growing strong after spring pruning

and the same problem at the half way of trunk

wound open to promote heeling

and sealed with hard past

and the final product.

I think it has got better movement and trunk taper. It will bee re-potted next spring to sort out rots, also will work on ramification.

Any critique are very welcome .
